Privacy
RAM Nudge collects no data and sends nothing anywhere. Everything stays on your device.
Last updated: October 21, 2026.
What RAM Nudge does with your data
- No data is collected. No account, no analytics, no ads, no tracking, no crash reports.
- No data is sent. The extension makes no network requests and loads no remote code, fonts or images. It talks to no server, ours or anyone else’s.
- Everything stays on your device. Free-memory readings are used on the spot to choose the pebble’s mood and to decide when to nudge you. Your settings (the low-memory threshold and snooze time) and the nudge state (current mood, snooze, a small counter) are saved in your browser with Chrome’s extension storage. The nudge state is cleared whenever Chrome restarts; everything is removed when you uninstall the extension.
- Your tabs stay private. RAM Nudge counts your tabs (the popup shows the number). When you click Free memory now, it puts the ones you are not using to sleep. It never reads their titles, addresses or page content.
- The clipboard is only written to. When you click Restart Chrome, it copies the text
chrome://restartso you can paste it. It never reads your clipboard.
Permissions, and why
system.memory- Read total and free memory, so the pebble knows when your computer is running low.
alarms- Check memory every 30 seconds, even while the popup is closed.
storage- Keep your settings and the nudge state in your browser.
notifications- Show the low-memory nudge.
No tab, history, website or account access permissions are requested.
